EPPING FOREST/KINGS OAK

A sunny day cycling in Epping Forest. We hired some bikes for 3 hours and got going!

A stop-by at Kings Oak Pub for a Chicken Caeser Salad and Lamb Shank with chips.

DISHOOM

It's 10th July - my birthday :) - and not only is that cause for a great meal.. it was also my sister's birthday 2 days ago, she is just back from the US only yesterday, and with her, is her boyfriend and his brother who's visiting London. PLUS I'm graduating in 3 days. So.... with all that in mind, we may as well go for some great food right?

Search up 'Dishoom' on Google and mountains of reviews come up, all with high ratings and recommendations. My sister and her boyfriend have always hyped up Dishoom. They've been 6 times? and sometimes had to wait up to 1-2 hours - each time, saying that it was still well worth it.
With all that in mind, I was really expecting something amazing.

Okay, enough chitchat.

Mango and Fennel yogurt cooler - seriously good while eating the spicy dishes!

Lamb Samosas and Okra Fries (we ordered another because they were so nice!)

Pau Bhaji

Lamb Boti Kebab

Dishoom Chicken Tikka

Chicken Ruby, Black House Daal, Raita

Awadhi Lamb Biryani

Chicken Berry Britannia Biryani

Memsahib's Mess

Pineapple and Black Pepper Crumble

With dessert, we got House Chai, Chocolate Chai and a Pot of Mint tea.

So conclusion is. Go to Dishoom. The atmosphere is great, the service is excellent and the food is outrageously delicious. In fact, I plan to go to the different Dishooms located in London and try different things on the menu.

COCORICO

COCORICO, Whetstone.
A celebratory meal for father's day as well as for myself passing finals and graduating!

Cocorico specialises in Italian food, especially it's seafood. I'd heard great things about this place but this was the first time for me.

To start, bread for the table with butter.
GAMBERONI DELLA CASA - King prawns with garlic, chilli and lemon
PORTOBELLO - Portobello Mushroom and goats cheese, chilli, garlic and topped with aromatic crumbs

For mains.
COCORICO SPECIAL MUSSELS - with king prawns & calamari in tomato, wine & herbs
BRODETTO DI RICCIONE - medley of seafood and shellfish cooked with tomato & wine sauce
SPAGHETTI AL CARTOCCIO - served in a pot spaghetti with kind prawns, langoustine, prawns in chilli, tomato, garlic and wine sauce

To end.
TRADITIONAL BANANA SPLIT

Conclusion is, this place is really special. It's a bustling environment, with incredibly friendly staff. The kitchen is open so it does mean more noise and more smells, but the food here is truely tasty and in exceptionally large portions which I really like...(more for your money right?!)
